Lego Friends
This year, construction toys finally realised that they were missing 50% of the market, namely girls! (Actually, this is probably a little insulting to the female children in this country who have enjoyed playing with Lego for years.)
Now they have their own products, aimed fairly at squarely at the pre teen/young girl market. Enter Lego Friends, four figures who live in a California style environment including a coffee shop, beauty salon, and various other businesses all based in Heartlake City. The figures are more shapely and less 'chunky', but the play scenario is very familiar; lots of housesto buld, cars to build and drive, sound stages to build and star on, you get the idea!
It's very "Friends", if you remember that tv series, which of course the kids won't. It is a natural progression for Lego, to whom the phrase "You cannot make it out of bricks" doesn't exist.

Meet the Lego Friends
_Meet Olivia, Stephanie, Mia, Emma and Andrea, five young ladies who love to have fun, whether it's hanging out at the City Park Café, being pampered in the Beauty Shop or at their secret hideout in Olivia's Tree House.
Olivia loves inventing things, solving problems and wants to be an engineer or a scientist. She loves anything pink, and building stuff in her workshop.
Stephanie loves planning parties, or playing with her rabbit Daisy and her dog Coco. She loves to bake cupcakes, writing stories and wants to be a journalist of an editor
Mia is the eco-friendly Friend, a vegetarian who loves to care for animals, especially her horse Bella. She wants to be a vet, but she plays a mean drumkit for fun!
Emma is the arty one, who loves designing clothes, jewellery and decorating houses. She's a good horserider too, and does martial arts, and wants to be a designer.
Andrea loves music, singing and dancing, spicy food and milkshakes! She loves to perform on stage, writes her own songs, and believes that "Music outs life in full colour."
There are lots of Friends kits to collect, from houses to cars and even a dog show! The houses are particularly good value, including lots of figures, furniture, pets and more.
